Verify Your Site and Submit a Sitemap to Google and Bing (Beta)
Because search engines recognize custom domains as separate sites from the default domain, you must register the site with search engines and submit a sitemap yourself.
Site registration is the process of verifying site ownership to search engines such as Google and Bing, while submitting a sitemap helps search engines quickly understand the site's structure and list of pages. Completing this process allows new pages to be indexed faster and more efficiently displayed in search results.
This feature is only accessible to sites using custom domains.
Search visibility and ranking may vary depending on content quality, keywords, search engine policies, etc., and it may take several days to several weeks for the changes to be reflected.
Google Search Console
Add site and verify ownership
Access https://search.google.com/search-console and log in with your Google account, then click the Add Property button at the top left.
Enter the custom domain address in the URL prefix field, then click Continue .
Select the HTML tag item on the property verification screen , then click the copy button for the meta tag.
Keep the Google Search Console window open without closing it, and navigate to Slashpage in the new window. Click Add tag under Site Settings > SEO > Verify Site Ownership .
Click Paste to automatically insert the meta tags copied to the clipboard, or click the name or content input fields to paste them manually and click Save .
Return to the Google Search Console screen and click Verify .
When the authentication complete message is displayed, registration is complete.
Submit sitemap
Copy the sitemap by clicking the copy icon in the Site Settings > SEO > Sitemap menu of Slashpage .
Go to Google Search Console and click Sitemaps in the menu on the left side of the screen.
Paste the copied sitemap address into the Add a new sitemap area and click Submit . If 'Success' is displayed in the Status column of the submitted sitemap list, the registration is complete.
Bing Webmaster Tools
Add site and verify ownership
Access https://www.bing.com/webmasters and sign in with one of your Microsoft, Google, or Facebook accounts, then click Get Started .
Enter the custom domain address in the Add your site manually field and click Add .
On the Add & verify site screen, select HTML Meta Tag item, then click the Copy button for the meta tag.
Keep the Bing Webmaster Tools window open without closing it, and navigate to Slashpage in a new window. Click Add Tag under Site Settings > SEO > Verify Site Ownership .
Click Paste to automatically insert the meta tags copied to the clipboard, or click the name or content input fields to paste them manually and click Save .
Return to the Bing Webmaster Tools screen and click Verify .
When the authentication complete message is displayed, registration is complete.
Submit sitemap
Copy the sitemap by clicking the copy icon in the Site Settings > SEO > Sitemap menu of Slashpage .
Go to Bing Webmaster Tools and click Sitemap in the menu on the left side of the screen.
Click Submit Sitemap at the top right of the screen .
Paste the copied sitemap into the input field and click Submit .
It is complete when 'Success' is displayed in the Status column of the sitemap details list.
