Content Translation

You can translate content such as posts and comments viewed by visitors into their language. Unlike site translation, which provides the entire site in different languages, this feature generates translations only for the content being viewed, reducing AI credit usage. Translations are saved automatically, and when another visitor views the same content in the same language, the saved translation is reused.
➕
This feature requires AI credits. Before using it, check your remaining credits under Usage & billing in Site settings.

Content translation settings

With permission to change site settings, go to the editor and click Site settings → Translation.
Turn on content translation and check the supported languages. Posts, comments, DMs, and subscriber emails can be translated into the language of the visitor or recipient.

Set languages to exclude from translation

If there are languages you don't want translated, click Add languages to exclude and select them. All other supported languages that aren't added to the exclusion list are allowed.

View content translations and originals

On the visitor view, click View translation on content written in another language to see its translation.
While the translation is displayed, click View original to see the content in its original language.
➕
If a translation has already been saved and that language is enabled in the visitor's automatic display settings, the translation is shown without needing to click View translation again.

Content language and automatic display settings

Click the settings icon next to View translation or View original, then select the language for translations under Content language. Turn off the toggle for any language you want to view in its original form under Automatic display settings; content in that language will then appear in its original form.
➕
Content language and automatic display settings are individual display settings for each visitor. If a translation isn't visible, check these settings along with the site's excluded languages, supported languages, and remaining AI credits.
